There are almost 60 milion displaced people worldwide, fleeing from conflicts ranging from South Sudan to Ukraine. Hundreds of boat refugees died in the Mediterranean. Only this year, more than sixteen thousand refugees have been taken to Italy. Now after 5 years, all reports about refugees that appear in the media do not seem to us much more. That’s why it’s important to tell the journey that these people are going through and that donations are still needed from residents from Europe.
The message has the most impact by moving yourself into a refugee taking the move in a boat towards the coast of Italy.Put on different cities in Europe, you can follow the story of this refugee. You get a life jacket before you get into the boat, after which the story starts with the virtual reality headset. The boat moves with the story and the waves are imitated with water drops. After being rescued by the Coast Guard and resumed from the boat there is a possibility to donate to the UNHCR to help the refugees. Right now they need our help more than ever.
