Over de Grens is the impressive history of the resistance in the East Groningen region between 1940 and 1945 and is inspired by a true story by Johan Frye. Two young children are taken in as evacuees from Amsterdam in 1944/1945 on Jan Kolder’s East Groningen farm, near the German border. The children see things on the farm that they really shouldn’t have seen … refugees hidden in the straw, the secret of a young Jewish hider, the mysterious meetings of the resistance at the farmer’s home….
Mysterious, intriguing and with a touch of kindness. This is how the three protagonists are seen on the expressions. We had them photographed on a black background so their faces stand out. Over this we placed an orange projection. In this way the faces each tell part of their own story.
A diverse media mix goes with “Across the Border. Posters, advertisements (offline and online), social media posts and roll-up banners were created. To show a new dimension each time, the actor’s face changes in the expressions. We chose a typographic logo where the top actually crosses the boundary of the bottom. In this logo, the demarcation between one thing and another is not guided by nuances. It goes right through everything.
